Raising Abuse Awareness Across the Healthcare Continuum

Program Overview •

As providers of health care to older people, caregivers are challenged to improve outcomes and provide safety for each person while tending to their psychological and physical wellbeing.  To address psychological needs, the presenter will acquaint all levels of staff with the various types of abuse and neglect and help them identify factors that may unintentionally create abusive situations. Through examples and discussion, participants will recognize characteristics of residents who are at risk for abuse, as well as those who may be abusive toward staff.
